For Americans who live in bigger cities, we’ve all become accustomed to seeing a Walgreens or CVS every city block or two. A new business opening soon in Seminole Heights, just north of downtown Tampa, is seeking to change that.
According to their website, Mortar and Pestle “revives the old-time traditional of a neighborhood pharmacy.” The new location will be designed for those who “who crave a relaxed pace, personal touch, and handcrafted flavor.”
Based on architectural renderings and descriptions on their website, Mortar and Pestle will feature a modern, independent pharmacy, where customers can fulfill their “everyday prescription needs.” Next to the pharmacy, will be a cafe (with rooftop seating area!) where customers can enjoy everything from tasty treats, to a soda bar, to craft espresso.
We admit that we find the concept very appealing, and users on Instagram seem to be equally excited about the location’s opening. In addition to creating a new space for Tampa residents to gather and converse, Mortar and Pestle is also currently hiring. Positions listed on their website include “Sous-Chef, Dessert Chef, Coffee Roaster, Baristas, Servers, and Beer and Wine Bartenders.”
